In Pelayo, light and height take centre stage. Developed by De la Villa Studio, the project is based on a home defined by generous verticality and a strong architectural presence.

The intervention seeks to open up and reorganise the space, enhancing its sense of spaciousness and allowing light, height and materials to become more prominent.

At LuzÓptima, we contributed to the project by incorporating Prado luminaires and switches, selected to integrate precisely into the architecture and support the reading of the space without interrupting it.

Lighting in Pelayo does not function as an added element, but as part of the project’s own language. Its role is to reinforce spatiality, guide circulation and bring warmth to the more intimate areas.

Beneath the walkway that connects the spaces on the upper floor, the dining area is located within a more intimate and domestic setting. The lighting helps balance the transition between the monumentality of the overall space and the everyday experience of living in it.

Pelayo is an example of how lighting and switches can add value to an architectural project when they are considered from the very beginning as part of the design.

Luminaires and switches are integrated to support the scale, materials and atmosphere of the home, maintaining a careful balance between functionality, aesthetics and technical precision.
